Just some things I love and feel inspired by….
:
So I recently joined this blog: younghouselove.com and it has inspired my thoughts about decorating. I’m not exactly sure what my style is yet, but I have seen some things on this blog that I really love :) In my next post I will put up some pics of things I enjoy!

Just a few pics from my trip to Florida. Enjoy :)

Whoa! It’s been a little over 2 months since I last posted! I can hardly believe that. Well, let’s see, since then much has happened. I am now 4 days away from completing my year of student teaching, I took a wonderful trip to Florida with some of my favorite people, I am listening to Pandora for the first time, ever- yeah, that about sums it up. Pretty epic if you ask me.
I am currently continuing to nurse a hangover I acquired as a result of a fabulous wine and dine night that Allison and I had last night :) The alcohol might’ve been free last night, but I’m certainly paying for it today, I’ll tell ya that much.
Despite my lackluster day I have been quite productive for not having left the confines of my apartment. Two loads of laundry, shower and shave, applied to three more school districts, cleaned in and around the apt., ate…..
Tomorrow will be great because I get to see Jenni for some food and shopping :)
That’s all for now!

I got the call at 5:45am. There is nothing better in the life of an unpaid intern.

As insignificant as this may seem to most, there are a select few people who, if they read this, will get a kick out of it. This is for all the ladies I had the pleasure of spending my day with at CPR/ First Aid training…..
We began the morning with First Aid training and I couldn’t help but record all of these memorable quotes:
“Have you ever seen a baby die? On Christmas? Easter?”
“Kids die too. Always remember that.”
“Worst school shooting was not Columbine. It was in Bath, MI in 1908. A man packed a car full of dynamite and blew up the whole school- after her killed his whole family.”
“Get a meat cutter’s apron and a face shield.”
“Vulcan death grip, flick their ears, ruffle their eyelashes. Anything to get their attention.”
Note to self: Jaw thrust Bill while he sleeps.
“Children are your captives.”
“Crash diets are not the answer.”
“I am wearing gloves.”
“Paramedics are egotistical assholes.”
“After looking at some of you…I’m not sure we’d be able to get our arms around them”….”them” being boobs.
“I’m a fatalist. I’m always looking for the blood and guts.”
“Pee on me. Puke on me. Poop on me, BUT don’t make me pick Rolo’s out of your mouth.”
“Amputations: hopefully in the school’s it’s just minor things…fingers, toes.”

*The emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying; keen pleasure; elation:
*A state of happiness or felicity.
I’m working on living a life full of joy. This is not an effortless task. It’s a matter of deciding which battles are worth fighting, letting go, and making a concious effort to find beauty in the breakdown (among many other things.)

Things I learned today about creating a portfolio:
-No stick people or ducks.
-No coffee rings or pizza stains.
-No “youtube page.”
-No lying.
-No plagiarism.
-Make copies, don’t use originals.
-Good grades don’t make good teachers.
-Be cut-throat. Try to beat out your best friend.
-Quote Rich LaVoie.
-No ice cream before dinner.
-My Philosophy is NOT the same as someone else’s.
-It is NOT a mini-novel.
-Finally, Don’t talk about GOD or politics. “People don’t like that. You might be throwing up a red flag.”

I swear to God I will NEVER make a student feel the way one of my professors made me feel tonight. Not one. Not ever. I feel like a complete idiot. I shouldn’t because this professor really is a dick (and I’m not just saying that because I am livid with him), but I still do. Ugh. How is it that one little thing can change everything?

I’m not a bright lights kind of person.
Dimly lit. Candle light- Suits me best.
And, I look forward to eating breakfast every night when I go to sleep.
